An announcement : My New Role with Menotracker

I'm overjoyed to share that as of 12 June 2025, I've officially joined Menotracker as Head of the Advisory Board.

I first met Sonja Rincón, Menotracker’s founder, at the EMAS Congress in Valencia, and our connection was immediate. We share similar values, a deep commitment to women's health, and a vision for meaningful change. For me, it's essential to collaborate with people I trust—especially women who share my passions and who recognize the value of my experience. That’s exactly what I found with Sonja and the Menotracker team.

Why Menotracker?

Because women deserve better. Better information, better tools, and more agency in their health care.

One of the biggest barriers to good menopause care (and health care in general for women!) is a lack of clear, actionable data.

Menotracker helps close that gap by enabling women to track their symptoms in real time, visualize trends and patterns, and then bring that data into clinical conversations in a clear and actionable way. This isn't just about logging periods —it's about transforming the way we understand and talk about menopause.

Menotracker is a secure, fully GDPR compliant tool - which means our most intimate data is safe. It’s a bootstrapped company - which means the vision and mission are paramount, not the voices of investors - we’ll grow with our customers. And we are in the process of obtaining certifications to clarify that the information we give to women will always be vetted by medical professionals. Our AI will always have ‘a human in the loop’ to ensure that the information we make available is backed by science and real world medical experience.

(Peri)Menopausal symptom tracking is a game changer for two big reasons:

1. It helps women understand what’s happening in our own bodies—something that's been dismissed or misunderstood, even by women, for centuries.

2. It contributes to closing the massive data gaps in women’s health, enabling better research, innovation, and personalized care.

I could not be happier to be part of this company.

From HLTH Amsterdam: FemTech, Innovation & a Wake-Up Call

With Menotracker, I recently attended the HLTH Conference in Amsterdam—a whirlwind four days of deep dives into health tech, innovation, and the future of care.

What stood out for me :

• I met companies focused on improving data quality and making sex- and gender-specific medicine the norm—like Equal-Care.org, which is doing brilliant work in this space.

• I saw early-stage prototypes for implantable hormone tracking devices—still in clinical trials (currently for fertility), but a glimpse into what’s coming. And discussed other types of hormone testing being developed using saliva and how it can be used (hint: with caution today, but improving!)

• We joined founders from across the FemTech ecosystem to talk about shared challenges, like how do women-founded companies recover from their (inevitable) mistakes—and discovered a powerful sense of solidarity. An excellent example of this kind of collaborative company is Perry. Sometimes, all it takes is swapping chairs with the woman next to you to make a brilliant connection over a cup of coffee.

• I was reminded of a hard truth: Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women globally—killing more women than all forms of cancer combined. But there are discussions happening in hospitals all over Europe and the US to try to educate medical professionals and patients about how to tackle this huge problem.

• Finally, an undercurrent theme at HLTH: Traditional business models don't serve women founders well. But the tide is turning. With growing purchasing power, a new generation of women entrepreneurs is building businesses differently—with collaboration, partnership, and mutual support at the center.

  That tired old trope about women always competing? It’s finally losing relevance—and not a moment too soon.

What’s next for me?

Inspired by conversations at HLTH—and by the incredible women who attended my M Factor screening on June 4—I’m creating a pan-European group to connect women influencing policy, health, and innovation. We’ll be exploring ways to collaborate, share insights, and amplify our impact.
